David Sarnoff Papers
Insert collection summary, for example:
The David Sarnoff papers were donated to the Hagley Museum and Library in 2009, along with the other archival collections of the David Sarnoff Library. This library had been established by Sarnoff himself in 1967 as a repository for his writings, awards, and memorabilia. Working with his staff, Sarnoff would select items from his own files, along with press clippings sent to him from RCA headquarters, for binding into volumes centred around his speeches, writings and awards.
The collection is arranged into two series and comprises over half of the total digitized content from Hagley Museum & Library. In Series I: Chronological, the material has been digitized from subseries A: Biographies and B: Writings, speeches, awards, and publicity to provide background information on David Sarnoff’s life and career, as well as an insight into his pioneering vision for the possibilities of the broadcasting industry and topics such as the Cold War, education, medicine, law and religion.
From Series II: Topical, content includes further addresses and speeches made by David Sarnoff, as well as materials covering broad topics such as Sarnoff’s military service, his work on a range of committees and boards, correspondence with prominent individuals, and some RCA records.
Other subseries include drafts and source material for Looking Ahead: The Papers of David Sarnoff, and folders of publicity materials.
